Renowned photographer Meek Zuiderwyk is currently one of the most established and respected commercial and fashion photographers in Australasia.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Meek immigrated to New Zealand with his family in the 1970’s and from a young age photography has dominated his world and been his driving passion.
Meek has shot large and small-scale campaigns for agencies and clients throughout New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific basin. His commercial work is frequently profiled in industry publications and his editorial work often featured in cutting-edge fashion and art magazines around Europe and the United Kingdom.
Meek has photographed many international celebrities and sports stars and was this year selected to be a Lurzers Archive world top 200 photographer.
Meek has a knack for making everyone he works with feel comfortable and look gorgeous, with his combination of cheeky warm humour and skilled professionalism.
His unique eye for creating stunning graphic and avant-garde imagery puts him in constant demand, and he is widely regarded for his collaborative and visual ideas, which often incorporate highly detailed sets and backgrounds.
“I work hard to create the best results not only for my clients but also for myself, and I strive to make the whole experience enjoyable and relaxed for everyone involved. I am influenced by everything around me from paintings and films to people and even simple textures; I love the whole process involved in the creation of an image, the transformation of the subject – creating something you can look at and escape into some sort of fantasy.”
When he’s not shooting he spends his time with his family, working on his own projects or travelling around the country enjoying his other passion – trout fishing.
