Whether it is immortalising a fleeting moment of a celebrity’s life in a portrait, or shooting the drama and spectacle between a model and her clothing in a fashion magazine, or even capturing the stolen glances of young lovers finally taking the plunge – Darren Gabriel Leow is your guy.
Darren Gabriel Leow is a fashion and commercial photographer based in Singapore. He frequently contributes to his local editions of international publications like Harper’s BAZAAR, TATLER, L’Officiel, ELLE, Style:, Style: Weddings, Esquire, Men’s Folio and URBAN (The Straits Times). His commercial clients also include, Estée Lauder, Qeelin, LUX, Pepsi, Sony Music, Audi Fashion Festival, Singapore Fashion Week, ION Orchard and United Overseas Bank.
Darren’s nuanced take on photography is an unlikely marriage of contrasts – where conflicting and often saturated colours compliment his signature post-production and image treatments. He understands the power of good visual communication and believes that a great photo should engage, and transport, the viewer to a fantasy – a belief he applies to all the avenues of his photography from fashion to lifestyle, from editorial to commercial.
Constantly improving on his photographic repertoire, Darren also attributes the success of an image to team effort, and values working closely with all his clients. On the continuous search for fresh inspiration and regularly researching new techniques to improve his craft, Darren is always prepared to embark on any given task.
Between shooting both locally and overseas for his usual fashion glossies and international clients, Darren also devotes his free time in the kitchen – creating mouth-watering food as engaging as his images.
